Chapter 7

After reading chapter 7, I realized the World Wide Web is the most popular services on the Internet. All of the hyperlinks on the internet is the World Wide Wed. The reading says that it's important to be aware of the many types of tools and services you may use. I believe that as future teachers we need to be able to use technology in our classrooms everyday and help students understand the internet and what we can do with it. One thing we might teach students to understand and use is email. A great way of teaching students about email is Microsoft Outlook. You can also use this for making calendars, making tasks lists, making address books, and plenty more options. Chat can be used to communicate to others across the internet. An example of videoconferencing is Skype. Skype to many people has gotten very popular over the past couple of months and as a future teacher I could use Skype to make my job easier. For example, in elementary schools you always have conferences with the student’s parents to go over their strongest points and their weakest points in the classroom. I could use Skype to connect with the parents. I could save time and make my teaching career a lot easier by using Internet and the World Wide Web.

  1. I love e-mail, but the only problem I see with having students use e-mail is that they will become to dependent on the teacher if they are accesible 24/7.

  2. Changing the font color would make this more legible. This is a piece of visual literacy.
