Chapter 8

This week I read Chapter 8, which is titled Using the Web for Teaching and Learning. A good piece of information to remember as a teacher, is that there are so many resources on the web available to you. The resources available online for teachers can be very helpful. This chapter discusses blogging. Blogging is a great way for teachers to communicate, and share helpful information and resources with other teachers. A neat element of the Internet is that you can bookmark websites that you want to keep for later use. Even grading for students is all technology based. This chapter talks about the electronic grade books available for teachers. Web authoring tools are helpful in creating class web sites. Class web sites can be a neat tool for a classroom. Overall, this was a great informational chapter about how using the web is great for teachers and students.

  1. Blogging is a great way to share ideas and thoughts. I really enjoy blogging in this class because it allows me to share what I learned but I also get to read what other classmates have learned. I want to use electronic grading and I want to create classroom website to communicate to students and parents for my future classroom.

  2. I agree with what Aubrey said. Blogging encourages teachers and parents to work together to help their students. Also, like you said...Bookmarking websites is a great way to help you save work without accidently plagiarising the work. :]
